Carlo Strenger, Belfond, 336 p., 20, 50 €.

∞

” In a world where image is essential, the way other see you is predominant, where recognition through social networks and assesses itself on the number of Google pages, our greatest fear is to fall into “insignificance.” To be insignificant, if we are to believe the dictionary is to be “unimportant”, “worthless”, “no character.” This is hardly exist anymore. But that’s not all, because the word literally refers to the deeper idea of not “meaning anything” or losing the “signification.” It is this strong belief that defends Carlo Strenger in this explosive book. The philosopher and psychoanalyst particular explains that “homo globalized” (this category of people whose identity is defined through their relationship with the info-entretainment) has lost the meaning and direction of his life, prisoner of an era when technology, globalization and the speed of information, marketing campaigns and the illusion of easy celebrity dominates. The famous slogan “Just do it”, released in 2008, is a perfect example: “everything is possible and two things are desirable, fame and wealth.” Against these mirages of contemporaneity, the author proposes a return to existentialism (through experimental existential psychology (EEP)) rehabilitating a culture based on the reason: I am what I do, I am free to choose. Carlo Strenger, Belfond, 336 p., 20, 50 €.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Creation de la linogravure: croquis, taille, et impression

Creating the original linoleum prints: drawing, cutting and printing process

La peur de l’insignifiance / The fear of insignificance – linogravure taille / cutting the linoleum

La peur de l’insignifiance / The fear of insignificance – linogravure impression / linoleum cut printing

Quotes © copyright Psychologies Magazine, 2013.

Drawings linoleum cuts, photographs and texts © copyright Raymond Verdaguer, 2013.

“La peur de l’insignifiance”, un livre de Carlo Strenger, critique de Elsa Godar – une linogravure, commande de “Psychologies Magazine”, Paris, septembre 2013. “The fear of insignificance” by Carlo Strenger, book review critic by Elsa Godart. – a linocut/illustration commissioned by “Psychologies Magazine”, Paris, September 2013 La peur de l’insignifiance […]

[36

post-13001","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-a-la-une-fr
